About your hosts

Marla has worked in the tourism industry for more than 30 years, holding positions as manager & sales director for resort properties in Nova Scotia. Her dream was to own and operate a Bed and Breakfast and so in 2004, she opened The Nelson House Bed and Breakfast. Marla loves meeting new people and having them feel at home. Her other passion is gardening where you can find her out in the yard playing gopher!

Darrell’s work experience has taken him from Natural Resources to Dept of Environment but has now retired.  He is often found in his spare time with paint brush in hand touching up the paint on the outside of the Bed and Breakfast. He likes to describe his position at the Bed and Breakfast as general handy man and the official “greeter”.

Going back to Germany we stayed our last day in this lovely B&B house. It surely was one of the highlights of this wonderful vacation here in Nova Scotia.
