Abour your hosts. Marla has worked in the tourism industry for more than 30 years, holding positions as manager & sales director for Resort properties in Nova Scotia. Her dream was to own and operate a Bed and breakfast and so in 2004, she opened The Nelson House Bed and Breakfast. Marla loves meeting new people and having them feel at home. Her other passion is gardening where you can find her out in the yard playing gopher! Darrell’s work experience has taken him from Natural Resources to Dept of Environment where he works full time. He is often found in his spare time with paint brush in hand touching up the paint on the outside of the Bed and Breakfast. He likes to describe his position at the Bed and Breakfast as general handy man and the official “greeter”. She acts as our program director and as soon as the guests have finished unpacking she engages them in a game of ball! In fact anytime you are not sitting down visiting or eating or sleeping Bailey is trying to round you up for a play of fetch. She is also on hand for walks if the guests would like to stroll around town with her as tour guide. |
